Happy New Year!

I’m always very excited about the new year because I like the feeling of starting fresh and setting goals. I have a lot of new ideas for 2011, and am excited to take on this new year!

Today is also the first day of the 100 Music Education Majors Tweeting project! Andy and I are very excited to get more students tweeting about their experiences and participating in all of the music education conversations going on. Visit MusicEdMajor.Net for updates and the official landing page for the project for more information!

As for some of my personal goals, I’m really striving for my album to be completed this year! I would say that I am still in the beginning stages of production, getting final mixes and deciding if any old recordings are worthy of sticking around. I’m sure it’s going to be a long and possibly tedious process from here forward, but I couldn’t be more excited!

I think it’s important for teachers and students to set goals for the new year. What things have you been meaning to do? What do you want to do better? What do you want to improve about yourself? Set aside some time to start a list of goals for yourself, and continue to add more as time goes on! If you are an Evernote user, it’s the perfect place to keep track of your goals! 🙂

Let’s make 2011 a great year for Music Education!
