Lindsay Brazell

Music Educator and Creative Professional

Starting Monday 2/29/16

As we start another month, I thought this quote from Bob Goff, author of Love Does, would be appropriate.

In the choir world here in South Carolina, literally every event occurs in the span of 3 months. It can be exhausting at times. Extra rehearsals, long hours, “working” on weekends…even though it can be enjoyable and rewarding at times, it eventually takes a toll on your body!

The best thing to do in these seasons is to be intentional about rest. Whether that means skipping on social events, or taking a week off from teaching private lessons, we need time to regroup and be at our best. In the creative and performing arts profession, we need to be at our best in order to produce our best!

Look at your upcoming week(s) and see when life is going to get a little crazy, and then schedule rest! You’ll be happy you did! (And so will your students!!)
